When he came to the club this summer, I thought Andy Johnson would be a right signing. The kind of experienced head that we dearly missed last season. I saw him in a couple of friendlies and then in the home games he played early in the season, and to be fair was undecided as to whether he could play a part, but he was certainly committed and appeared to help some of the other players early on. We now need a midfield player with precisely those attributes - someone to lead the team (in a way that Howard does not), do a solid job in the middle of the park and release Brian to do what he does best - create and score goals. Hassel is a trier but he is clearly out of position, and Davey doesn't seem to rate Togwell either. For me Davey needs to put whatever grievances he has with Johnson aside and give him an opportunity to see if he can fill that gap. Why else have we been paying him (and I'll bet it's a decent wedge too)?
Absolutely correct. It's disgraceful how Davey has fell out with players and just cast them adrift. The problem is there's no going back even now we're desperate as his match fitness will be non-existant.
from what i have heard he is poor in training if you owned your own buisness and hired a man who turned up late or went home early every day and did **** all would you give him a better job with perks or would you **** him off
2 words about Hassell full back. If that is indeed the problem with Johnson then Davey should fine him and speak about it publicly as that's the benchmark he set with Antony Kay. As he hasn't done that, Johnson should be considered for selection.
To be fair he only said that about Kay after Antony had grabbed him by the throat and called him a fat Welsh lovely person* , allegedly
RE: To be fair he only said that about Kay after 'allegedly' - yep I heard that one too! You've got to be consistent though
