REDS boss Andy Ritchie gave his thoughts ahead of tomorrow's clash with MK Dons at Oakwell.

He said: "We have a couple of niggles going into the game and we will give late tests to Brian Howard and Paul Heckingbottom. Brian has a knee injury and Paul got a bang on his ribs in training so we will wait and see tomorrow.

"Nicky Wroe is back in contention and could be back in the squad; Dale Tonge has had his operation and the specialist has recommended six to eight weeks on the sidelines; Antony Kay should be back soon and Robbie Williams could be playing again in a fortnight.

"We will have to look to make changes following the game at Walsall although you have to take that game in context. From the midfield onwards we did not play so I have some thinking to do and maybe there will be changes. The back four and Nick Colgan were blameless and gave a good account of themselves - we were poor in midfield and up front.

"Milton Keynes are not as bad as their league position suggests and they have brought in Scott Taylor and David Partridge this week. We were interested in Scott earlier this season and he has experience and has scored goals in this league. He was target for us.

"The Dean Windass situation has hit a stalemate at the moment unless we can persuade the chairman to make another bid. That is as far as things have got.

"It is not something that has really come out of the blue because we have spoken about his quality all season. I am a great admirer of Dean and if a player of his quality is available then you just have to be interested. He is the best striker in this division bar none and that included Trundle at Swansea and it would be brilliant for us to sign him.

"I felt that bringing in someone of his calibre would be a tremendous asset to us and a huge boost both on and off the pitch. He would also help our younger strikers a great deal.

"You never know in this game but we are looking to strengthen and bring in a couple of players just to give us that extra boost and extra drive we need. We want to go forward and we want to be successful.

"Nathan Jarman could be going out on loan next week although the move to Bury looks dead at the moment. They wanted someone before last weekend but we could not let him out at that time. Hopefully something will happen next week.

"I am concerned at the moment because we have struggled a bit since the turn of the year. We have put in the odd half here and there and we now need to go out there and earn the right to play.

"We are still there or thereabouts but we have only lost two league games in the last 16 and if we can go on a run now then we will go a long way to getting into the top six. This league is so tight and we now have to get that consistency back".

not sure I'd go that far, but undoubtedly a great finisher, and a fantastic personality to have around the place. the arrogance of success, he's a winner and we've been crying out for one for ages.
