Ritchie's fury over fixtures BARNSLEY boss Andy Ritchie has aimed a critical broadside at League One fixture planners on the eve of a hectic Easter programme. Ritchie is incensed that Southend - Monday's visitors to Oakwell - are playing their first of the holiday fixtures tomorrow night and have two days off before facing Barnsley. "I'm a bit disappointed that yet again Southend get to play on Friday night. How the hell do they get that dispensation? "If we asked, could we play Friday? I don't know, I don't know what the criteria, it's not on television," he said. "It's a bit out of order that they get an extra 24 hours rest in this very busy period and before they play us." Southend's game at home to Gillingham is one of only two matches in League One tomorrow night. Yeovil v Scnuthorpe is the other. Barnsley expect to have a fully fit squad to take to Oldham on Saturday and for the Bank Holiday home game with league leaders Southend although captain Paul Reid's ankle injury is still causing some concern. Barnsley Reserves beat Oldham 1-0 last night at Oakwell in the Pontin's League Division One.
"If we asked, could we play Friday? I don't know" "If we asked, could we play Friday? I don't know"</p> If it's that bloody important to you and you really want to play on friday night then just ask the Football League if you can. Are the fecking phones at oakwell shagged or are you just incapable of operating them?</p>
