It still amazes me that with the help available to people nowadays that animal cruelty still exists.

My heart bled for a kitten that was brought in to work today with leg damage. A neighbour found it in the pouring rain obviously in pain. He contacted the owner who stated that he didn't care!!

Luckily for the kitten the neighbour was a good hearted soul who took it upon himself to bring it to the vets and also offer to contribute to the costs of it's treatment.

The kitten has to have a pin placed in his leg so the treatment is going to be costly, but the neighbour still wants to pay for it and take the kitten on as his own.

    Good man!

    That's a real shame.

That only it's leg was broken.

I would have stood on it's head too.

I know you keep saying you're a pussy magnet, but standing on 'em is a bit much.

It does concern some people. That's why farmers have visits from the RSPCA and DEFRA.

You said it bothers 'some people'...

    never stating it bothered you.

You made it sound like it only bothers other people.

    Does it bother you?

The fact is that it doesn't bother everyone. I do have issues with the cruelty that some of them face before their death, but being honest about it I am a meat eater and accept that for me to be able to eat it, it has to be killed somewhere along the line.

Do I see a humane killing as cruelty? No, I don't. Am I against the likes of battery hen farming, yes. Hypocrite? I suppose I am.
