Thought Souza was top notch again today. He was dominant throughout the game, even against Adebola. He has improved alot this season. Him and Moore, who also had another good game, looking a decent partnership. In fact the whole back 4 looks solid. Kozluk is showing his best form of his time with us and Foster is ever dependable. We also look capable of keeping a hold of the midfield, Anderson only needs to learn how to shoot to be the complete midfielder and Colace is busy and efficient. JCR wasn't great today but he is a good Championship winger and despite Devaneys inconsistency he is a worker. We are fortunate to have 2 wingers who work as much as JCR and Devaney, both are essential to our defensive side of the game. Once again today though our strikers let us down. Both were clean through on the keeper and both missed. I think Hume is a decent player who has got a touch of quality at times and will get 15 goals but I can't see Macken getting 5. In fact all the other strikers in the squad might not get much more than 5 between them. All in all though we look to have started to show that we are competitive in this division. Our recent form (last 6 as usual) is 1.33 ppg. That is 61 over a season. Got to keep it going with a win on Tuesday. Can't see why not. Draw most likely, can't see them beating us. Can't wait, be my first visit to their stadium. COME ON YOU REDS!.
RE: The pens (if given) would have changed it and given the strikers a bit more confidence. Your spot on about JCR & Devaney, both work their socks off. We do nee to convert the chances though.
I thought Hume's shot in the first half was well saved. Macken's miss in the second half was awful, he should at least get it on target. I'd love to see the Kozluk incident on telly it looked a sure fire penalty, if it had been in the first 10 minutes I think it would have been. I'm trying to think of how many shots Bristol had, they weren't prolific today and I thought McIndoe was quiet. </p>
I think it was Andy Cole that said there is no such thing as a good save only a bad miss. Especially from a one on one or penalty situation
Hume was on target, the keeper had to save it. Macken's wouldn't, it was off target. That to me is a big difference.
RE: Hume was on target, the keeper had to save it. Hume chose the wrong side for me. Not in hindsight, as he hit it I was thinking he would put it in the other side. Keeper was always going to be covering that side because it was on Humes right. He should have give him the eyes and tucked it in the other corner. Mackens effort was just plain awful.
