another iphone/itunes question

don't really understand how it all works!
Son wants an album - £10 on iTunes
can also get it as an mp3 album from amazon for £8.49
I already have an amazon account and would prefer not to link my credit card to his iTunes account (or buy a £15 voucher)
How easy is it to get the amazon download onto the iphone?
does it have to be downloaded to pc then put on via iTunes, or can it be purchased and downloaded direct to iphone without using iTunes - if so what is the process?

 

You'll have to import it through iTunes on the PC mate if you get the tracks from Amazon.

Don't ever expect Apple to make it any easier, it's in their best interest to make sure people buy everything through iTunes as they make an absolute fortune out of it even though they are generally slightly more expensive than Amazon.

 

Cheers mate. going off at a tangent. son has £6 unused credit from an iTunes voucher. If I link my credit card, will it just pull the balance from my card?
Then can I unlink my credit card immediately after?

 

No idea pal sorry I've never used a voucher but you'd imagine it would use the balance on the account already.

 

No worries. do you if you can remove the linked card afterwards - bit wary as I once linked a card to his xbox account and I couldn't remove it
