They are now advertising the matchday program on the website. Complete with "yours for only 2.50" Wish they would put some news or maybe an article on there as opposed to using it just as an advertising board. Is it just me, or do they see us and think, KERCHING.
Another high actually comes in handy for us fans who live away ... so actually its the club providing a valued service....
Hows that work then? Youve still gotta come to Oakwell to get it, or do they post you one down? Your smart enough to use a computer so you cant possibly think they are doing it for the benefit of fans. Theyve realised theyre not selling any and are trying to push them.
RE: Hows that work then? Good idea if you ask me..... No doubt the club have fans in other countries, counties within the UK...... Lets get the product out to them.
"They've realised they aren't selling and are trying to push them" And the problem with this is.....................?
they are doing it for the benfit of everyone !! the club sells more programs , the fan gets his/her copy posted to him/her ! everyone wins... do you really see a problem with this ??
RE: "They've realised they aren't selling and are trying to push them" Thats all they ever try to do. Thats all they see the fans as, something they can squeeze for every penny. Wheres it stop, comes sample our wonderful Pukka pies and hot dogs. Theres alot of these on the website and very little actual news or information, or interestin articles to read. Also, maybe im being thick but how does this benefit fans that live far away, you still have to come to Oakwell to get it.
RE: they are doing it for the benfit of everyone !! Some people will have a problem with anything the club does!!!!!
RE: "They've realised they aren't selling and are trying to push them" So the club get slated from one side because their marketing is poor and they are missing an opportunity to make money. The club do some marketing and get slated for trying to "squeeze every penny out of their fans". I'd like to see the club try to increase their revenue streams, better merchandising, mail order opportunities etc. If it brings money into the club then, hopefully, it becomes beneficial in terms of the quality we see on the field. Perhaps better quality and choice of food and refreshment on offer as well would see an increase in revenue.
100 percent agree But its not whats happening, they arent providing better merchandise, they are just trying to get more of the same merchandise sold on saturdays. Youre spot on about revenue streams, provide the facility for fans who live elsewhere to get hold of programs other than coming to Oakwell, make shirts available somewhere else but the club shop, better refreshments. None of this has crossed their mind. Its all so simplistic, in this case its all about getting fans to buy programs on saturdays, what about making it possible for a fan to order a program through the website that can be collected when you come to the game or sent to you? Sorry to sound like im having a go but it gets my goat that its run like a corner shop.
RE: Hows that work then? Is that because they're not on sale yet? Since when was there anything wrong with advertising?
