Another nail in the coffin of free speech

It seems the BNP website is inaccessible. Maybe the server is down or there's a perfectly good explanation. Or maybe there's a sinister reason. Most people on here will say, 'And a good thing too. It's racist nonsense, and we don't want anything to do with it.' Or something to that effect.
But it runs much deeper than that, of course. Whether you think the party has views worthy of discussion or whether you totally disagree with them is beside the point. The Party, like any other Party, should be allowed to express its opinion.
It appears the endless smear campaign has been unsuccesful. It has become necessary to take more radical steps to shut them up.

    That's a giant assumption you've made there.

The website is down at the moment just like thousands if not millions more in the world are at the moment and like what happens to pretty much every website at least once during its existence and you automatically assume it is due to people taking 'more radical steps to shut them up'

I got stuck at a red light yesterday, it might have been because the light is occasionally red like every other traffic light is from time to time or it might have been because Mrs Williams who has never liked my driving had taken radical steps to temporarily stop me.

Point take, Supertyke, although I did say maybe there's a good explanation. However, if steps have been taken to shut them up, it would be consistent with the governmen's attitude to what they have to s

    You fell for it Paul

He wanted people to visit the site!

Given how often this website is down, the government must really not like what people put on here....part of the bias against Barnsley FC?

try to look at it like this. if bnp ever get to power there will be no more freedom of speech for those who disagree with bnp politics and for those who is not white and is not christian.

    LOL

Funniest over-reaction to an assumption without evidence I've read in ages, someone probably tripped over the power cable going to their server.

    RE: LOL

i have been in many debates with bnp nationalists counter-part here in norway, who says that they are for freedom of speech, but certain people can not say what they want, like muslims, socialists, communists. anarchists, anarcho-syndicalist etc.
bnp and other nationalists have a ambivalent relation with freedom of speech

Just to return to the original comment and in the no-doubt folorn hope of getting a sensible response other than the pea-brained attempts offered thus far, I would just reiterate the fact I am unable to access the BNP website. I'm certainly not a PC whizzkid, but it just seems odd particularly given the shenanigans over Islamic extremist's attempts to close down the Internet because of the latest episode of their having 'taken offence' at something. Probably a cartoon of Fred Flintstone allegedly making anti-Islamic comments or Cilla Black wearing flared trousers clearly intended to arouse the unbridled lust of young bucks with one-track minds.
Anyway, I'm prepared to admit I don't know why sites are inaccesible for several days, as has been the case with this particular one on my PC. Sorry if that's caused anyone to have to be rushed to the General to have their sides sewn back together.
BTW All-in-all a useful point gained all things considered IMO.
