When he wanted to talk to Wolves I thought yeah whatever, go to league 1 then, but then thought hold on he will end up passing us on way down possibly Looks like he made right decision
He went for the brass. Simple as that. They will be replacing him in the summer so nowt to do with him making the right decision long term.
He had enough faith in his ability to know that a short term drop to the league below would soon be to his benefit when next season he's still a first team regular for them.
I didn't particularly rate golbourne,I find it hard to believe footballers that seem unable to take a man on and beat him get a job at this level, having said that he was better than kennedy who will simply never be good enough at championship level, odd glimmers of hope with a decent tackle or a decent pass don't cut it with me.
Good player Golbourne. I saw him beat men often and he seems to have improved the final ball too with the amount of goals he sets up. Some fans just seem to think that when a player doesn't want to play for us anymore they instantly are s**t in there eyes.
I thought he was poor from the word go,not just after he decided he didn't want to play for us,and really didn't see him beat men often, what I did see often was him run, stop then pass backwards or square at best. even his cross, shot or whatever it was against burnley in the cup was a complete fluke that their goalie lost in the glare of the floodlights, the ball came down with frost on it and luckily for us danny rose was sat right under it.
I saw Golbourne play at Crawley last month and sort of hoped that as an ex-Red he would do well. But he didn't shine and Crawley beat Wolves 2-1 in what was the little club's biggest ever league win. Regret to say that I'll be watching Barnsley play at Crawley next season. It's not a stadium to savour...
