Another one's of Jed's ticket pricing ideas...

...I love a good ticket price thread. Here's a short(ish) one related to kids.

When I was a kid, the cost of getting into Oakwell didn't seem that bad, more than my pocket money but not so much that I thought about doing anything else with the money.

Lets get the new generation of fans in with a ridiculous price such as £3 for under 16's - I can't stand teenagers but as long as they don't all come to Oakwell wearing baseball caps (you know they don't even bother to bend the front of them now?) then that's fine with me.

Also, give shed loads of free tickets to schools! If it wasn't for the club doing this in the 80's when I attended my first games I'd have never become a Barnsley fan and given the club thousands of pounds over the years, many of the people I still know from my primary school days can also say the same! Multiply this over god knows how many people - that's a lot of future income.

I can only assume the short-sightedness of the club is coming from the fact that the current regime don't think they will have control of the club in the future...which is hopefully the case.
