The Wembley Stadium Manager. Why on earth would you allow an NFL game to go ahead in the weeks prior to last and most important qualifier? There’s no doubt the pitch did play a part.

The Croatia fans seemed to have the best seats.

They should have been up in the Gods. Far too many of them as well.

Pitch was the same for both teams.

Can't use that as an excuse - if it was that bad why couldn't they have relaid it. Surely it would have been better than that last night - you could still see the markings for gods sake

Wembley has to pay for itsen

and it'll take a few more made up sports and Cliff Richard concerts to do that Im afraid. I suspect its the FA not the stadium manager that decides the Wembley calendar, ie Mr Barwick again, R8.

best quote I've found so far today:

"It exemplifies much that is wrong with English football that while McClaren has gone, the same man will be responsible for picking his successor."

The pitch didn't play a part at all, as it was same for both teams. They let the NFL game be played for the massive publicity it got and for the millions it made to go towards paying for the stadium.

NFL is a Mickey Mouse game, what it is all about. And why couldn’t a game have been arranged for after yesterday’s game.

Course it played a part, you know what they say. A bad pitch in a cup game, between two sides from different divisions a bit of a leveller.

Not saying that is the reason we are out, but it is maybe one of say 3 factors why we have gone out.

I agree it didn't help, but a good pitch wouldn't have made our long aimless punts forward any more effective
