These cheats don't need to have contact to go down. That's the problem. Proper spoilt the game that. Leaves such a bad taste. Echo's of rivaldos face grab.
FIFA won't take any action against the cheats though so they will do it all the more. I agree it has spoilt the game and I felt for the 'keeper.
Disgraceful biased performance by the officials perfectly good goal disallowed as well but every decision has gone Brazils way I actually wanted Brazil to win but now I am really feeling sorry for the Croations who have been well and truly cheated today
I'm actually going to support any team who plays against them. This is Bladder's doing though. I'm sure of it.
Its the same old story with cheating players and inept officials. What a great start to the world cup.
I am a fan of the Brazilian game but after last nights cheating and players going down holding their face when the contact, if any, was ankle high was disgraceful. It's clear FIFA want a Brazil final.
I loved Brazil when I was growing up, I was lucky enough to have seen them in '82, possibly the best team of all time (IMO). The recent Brazil sides aren't a shadow of the great side and this years bunch seem to be moving further and further away from the football style and philosophies that once made them most fans second favourite side.
They were a great side but surely the 1970 team with Pele Rivilino Jairzinho Carlos Alberto etc were the best of all time I was too young to really appreciate them but from what I have seen and listening to my Dad I am inclined to think they were The current side aren't in the same league and I was really disappointed yesterday
The manager is the reason. Scolari was criticized by the Brazilian media for playing a non-Brazilian pragmatic style the last time he managed them. Looks like it's continuing.
There wouldn't be too much between them but you're possibly right that the '70 side would have the edge - what a match it would be though. What I should have said was the best side ever that haven't won the world cup.
It is a poor style, nothing like what we expect from Brazil, but in my opinion the '82 side was the last of the great flamboyant attacking sides. I think it was Zico that said 'tonight was the night that beautiful football died' after their 3-2 defeat to Italy in the '82 world cup.
This thread can run and run Just seen Mexicos 2 disallowed goals ... And we think we get bad officials at Oakwell
If you thought the Japanese & Columbian officials have been crap so far, there's probably worse to come. Get ready for referees from Tahiti, El Salvador, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and New Zealand. Gulp.
