just have a look in the Sunday paper yesterday, or ceefax, or whatever. Take a look at the attendances in the Championship, and then look at those in the 1st (3rd !) division. That's what it is going to be like. Oh I can't wait.
Averages from ESPN website 1 Wolverhampton Wanderers 20,001 2 Sheffield United 17,235 3 Bradford City 14,243 4 Bristol City 11,735 5 Preston North End 9,938 6 Milton Keynes Dons 8,412 7 Rotherham United 8,389 8 Swindon Town 8,011 9 Brentford 7,336 10 Port Vale 6,470 I put us somewhere between Bristol and MK Dons, so not much less than we've been used to at this level
Our home crowd won't change that much, its the away following which will suffer. When we last got relegated Mr Spinks said the average away following in the Championship is 1600 compared to 600 in league one.
I don't think our average will change too much to be honest, we're pretty much down to the hardcore fans now. What will change is the away end - what we saw on Saturday with the Bournemouth fans will happen most weeks in league one.
Yup, said that Saturday - that 6000 seater stand is going to look a bit sparse for the enxt few years.
