Am sure we couldn't afford him but ....

there is a Bury link - was Kidd there at the same time? He may just have been visiting his old friends. He became the first 'voucher' player (was it Coka-Cola?) when he moved from Bury to Brighton. Did not have a great scoring record with Blunts to be honest, but what pace he had. Good striker.

    Not prolific

O.1 goals / game though he did look useful in the champions league game where he scored.

Only got 1 goal for the blunts

that you're right but shut up

because it ruins their ideal image of ritchie being the worst manager ever meaning that everything that davey has done is worth more because he inherited such a weak squad (That had a better start to the season than any of daveys so far)

    pfff

what a load of *****. IIRC AR said he'd been warned not to sign CKR by one of his contacts.

and who said he was the worst?

certainly not the best and certainly not the man to keep us in this division.

I think not....however from the BBC

I remeber being told that CKR was due for a medical but AR had been advised not to sign and cancelled.

    Tykes end Kazim-Richards pursuit
    Colin Kazim-Richards
Barnsley will not pursue their interest in Kazim-Richards
Barnsley boss Andy Ritchie says he has ended his interest in want-away Brighton striker Colin Kazim-Richards.

The Tykes boss recently admitted he wanted to sign the 19-year-old after he handed in a transfer request at Albion.

"Brighton are asking too much for a player they got for nothing after winning a competition last summer," Ritchie told Barnsley's website.

"He has potential, but we will not pursue it and we are now talking about bringing someone else in."

Earlier this week, Kazim-Richards had repeated his desire to leave the Withdean Stadium.

He had moved to Brighton from Bury in June 2005 in a move funded by a Seagulls fan winning £250,000 in Coca-Cola's Win A Player competition.

the BBC website seems to agree with madmark then doesn't it

that Ritchie wanted to sign the player but did not have adequate funding made available to him

I dont really give a **** about what happened in the past, but

it seems that I am not able to post anything without someone putting stupid replies, if you dont agree with what I put, fair enough, but silly remarks are just that......................... silly remarks!!!
