Doubt it, they'll probably give him a few games to see how he copes and if he manages theyll use him to try and stay up.
They need him right now! Straight in a the deep end. Which is why many of us are concerned about what is best for the lad, not just the club and our own selfish interests. He's not ready for the premier league in my opinion and with all respect to Wigan, it is possibly the worst choice he could make. He'd be better off at a big club and developing in the reserves or going on loan.
He'd be strongly pushing for a start at Wigan. I'd be amazed if they loaned him back with the defensive injuries they've had.
I don't see why a team who are struggling to retain their premiership status and have had quite a few injuries to contend with would sign a player of Stones calibre and immediately loan him out. I think they need him as much as we do. Different story if he went to Everton, I think we'd stand a much better chance of getting him back on loan
The Wigan defence has been decimated with injuries and out of form players. If he signs for them there is no way we will see him sent back here.
Have you listened to yourself? - He's not ready - In at the deep end - Wigan is the worst choice he could make Wigan are a good club, built on good football, with one of the most highly rated coaches and man managers in the whole country. They've sustained Premier League football for over five seasons whilst developing talent that has gone on to bigger and better things, like Champions League football (Valencia and Moses). In terms of his career, playing regularly for Wigan (even in the championship) is a massive step up from playing for Barnsley. Yes, there are other teams out there but none of them have made a bid yet so what does that show in terms of faith in his ability? You only get one football career, and you should make the most of it. Now, if Everton make a bid then there's an obvious choice to make as the positives of a move to Everton outweigh those of moving to Wigan.
Wigan have been on the look out for defensive cover throughout January. It just doesn't make sense that they would sign the two defenders they have been actively searching for, and then loan one of them out. At no point have I read that it is an actual requirement of any deal that we get Stones back on loan.
Re: Have you listened to yourself? Preach brother. He's the best thing since sliced bread but not good enough for the Prem but worth £5 million.
Here's one of the many articles that quoted that http://www.westlondonsport.com/pape...-sell-stones-but-want-him-back-on-loan-report
