https://news.sky.com/story/minister...themselves-from-cost-of-living-surge-12614360 Safeguarding Minister, WTF?
Always amazes me that one - people such as nurses etc working in jobs and struggling with bills. What would happen if they all move jobs?
Telling people to get a better job is a twattish comment on its face, but the more you think about it the worse it gets. Those jobs will always exist, and by telling people to get a better job rather than focusing on helping people in those jobs she's affirming that as far as she's concerned it's absolutely fine to have swathes of the population in real financial trouble. The odious lovely person.
So this is the answer to all our problems is it? No wonder we're in this mess, talk about incompetence at the highest level. The really sad thing is, a lot of idiots will think she's right.
beats me how that thought made it from her brain to her mouth and she still thought it was acceptable. At least she can withdraw to one of their subsidised bars or restaurants to think it through!
What amazes me is that people vote for these nutjobs in the first place and probably will again come the next Gennleral Election!
Takes me back to the 80's when one of them suggested a similar thing, like "get on your bike". Forty years on and still the same fgs!!!!
In effect "Come on all you carers on minimum or living wage. Abandon the people you look after and look after yourselves." You couldn't make it up. What an absolute joke this lot are. Except it isn't funny.
Says it, then says she's not suggesting it, then says it again Anyway...I'm off to have a raw potato for my 30p dinner
What a world we live in when a Government minister can come up with claptrap so absurd that it had already been dismantled years previous by Danny Dyer https://www.thepoke.co.uk/2020/11/22/danny-dyer-talks-more-sense-than-the-government-episode-137/
It's a desperate attempt to set the narrative of the cost of living crisis - "if you're poor it's your fault, not ours." Sadly plenty of people will buy it. Including some of the people who are struggling.
If you watch the interview in the linked article she actually doubled down on both comments. We all say stuff when we're talking off the cuff that we haven't thought through too well and then clarify it much better when picked up on it. But the interviewer here does pick her up on it, and she stresses that some people are already working every hour god sends. But the Tory, after pretending to understand, repeats the exact same phrases: work more hours, move to better paid jobs. These were the soundbites that they wanted to get across in the interview. This was the message. It's beyond belief.
Very funny lady. Love this response. Spot on Rosie, my mum is 93 and struggling to make do on her pension. She's just applied for a job as a fire fighter, there is no reason why older people should be consigned to the bin just because they are old. Now where's that bin.
Problem with this is that although Rosie is parodying Tory MP's a lot of what she says some of them genuinely think its a good idea
But that is the Tory way - screw everyone else its all about benefitting yourself. Its why I hate them so much
It's the Tory party so nothing is a shock. Have a look at the latest weekly email from this gossip site that's been around ages.... https://popbitch.com/latest-email/ In with all the snippets of gossip you have two Tory stories one about JRM and one about Boris Johnson.
