The only man capable of getting us out of this sorry situation is Neil Warnock

Why doesn’t one of the owners pick up the phone and ask him to come and save us , admittedly it’s not how their spreadsheet works but what an effect it would have on both the team and the fans

He has pulled off similar rescue jobs before when everyone else thought they were lost
    causes

He has publicly stated that he has a lot of affection for the club, area and fans and he is desperate for one last swan song

It’s time for the owners to finally bite the bullet and admit the appointment of Asbahi was a mistake and for the fans to make it known that he would be welcomed back with open arms

    We can't afford him.

    He wouldn't come here.

He wouldn't be able to stop us going down.

    Hope that helps.

Why would he? Retire with a relegation? I'm sure he's battering the door down to sign up.

Would have been the best option when we appointed Poya (or even better, a month before), but it's too late now I reckon.

If we'd have appointed someone like Warnock then they'd have had us midtable by Christmas and would want money to spend in January.

If Warncok came in with a new manager bounce and closed the deficit though anything could be possible. Likewise we were eight points adrift under Struber and pulled it out with less games left.

For some reason the board have decided relegation to L1 (for starters) and the £6 or £7 million hit to club finances that brings is a lesser evil than appointing a manager with a pair of balls because the last time they did that it ended up costing £500 thousand according to Conway. I know it makes no sense but then again nothing the board do makes sense to anybody with at least 1 functioning brain cell.

Speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live last week, he said: “Somebody asked me the question ‘Would I go back into any club between now and the end of the season?’ and I said ‘Yes’.

"I would go somewhere until the end of the season. It’s a good time now for clubs to take somebody on and then have a good look around at what manager they are going to have.

"Whether it’s a team escaping relegation now or a team pushing for the play-offs or promotion, I’m not really bothered. I just enjoy managing, I enjoy miracles.”

A source close to Warnock told The Star his history with the Tykes, as well as the club’s geographical proximity to his hometown of Sheffield, would likely make the role an attractive proposition for him.

It's the hope that kills you. The ironic thing for me is for that to happen the defeats would have to continue. Then it would be 12 from 17 etc. It isn't going to happen.

The time for this was immediately after Schopp had been sacked, as many of us would have liked (but few expected would happen).

We've now left things to deteriorate further and have wasted the opportunity of a transfer window. Based on the likelihood of success (I think even he would struggle to save this season from here) vs likely cost I don't think it's a feasible option for us to pursue at this stage.

Much as I hate the thought of the totally uninspiring prospect of Poya staying in place for the rest of the season, any replacement at this stage needs to be someone who's preparing for a League One campaign. This season is beyond redemption, thanks to two spectacularly awful Head Coach appointments. I don't see Warnock being that candidate, much as I'd love it to be otherwise.

Warnock would come in and the squad would automatically get smaller in spite of injuries. I reckon it would be Morris and Cole up front, Basic 4-4-2. The 11 would be set in stone. It would be a return to two defensive midfields and long balls to Cole and Morris. I couldn't see a place for the new loan signings. It would be Hondermarck and Gomes mopping up in the middle.

We should be approaching him now with a view to taking over at the end of the season. We too far gone I believe and that’s because the players lack the bottle, ......Let Warnock have one more throw at the dice to get another promotion under his belt......and from a financial point of view I reckon season ticket sales would be good in the knowledge that good old Colin was taking over!
