'Ow come when BFC are due to play their biggest games of the season against Chesterfield, Hudds, and probably Roth and Donc, the good old local SY police stick their great big interfering mits in and say that for safety concerns the kick off has been brought forward to 9 in the morning. AND YET...... you get the biggest game in the history of the planet where local rivalry is frenetic and life threatening, ie Sheff U v Weds, and their kick off is kept at 3pm Saturday, conveniently allowing everybody to get tanked up at the pub before going in to kill every opposition fan in site. Please explain the rationale.
proper lmao at police on satdi when that brddy fan got took out they took as long as possible to get up the stairs so that the stewards could deal with it before they got there.
and then when they scored and the fans ran all over the police decided to step in after they'd all gone back to their seats.
good old piggys! (Y) keep up the good work

thats ******** as well against sheffield wednesday: sorry barnsley, you cant kick off at 3 we have to bring it forward for safety against donny: sorry barnsley you cant kick off at 3 against huddersfield on the only day of the year that fans will want to stay out celebrating: sorry barnsley you cant kick off early so that the huddersfield fans can then travel back to huddersfield and then go out to celebrate the new year. we'll have to move the kick off time back to 3 oclock which totally goes against all logic and against the stance that we have always taken and will mean that many hudders fans will choose to stay in barnsley getting pissed all night, probably causing a few fights during the evening.

RE: thats ******** as well How does a game finishing at 5 prevent people getting back to Huddersfield?! Most people celebrate New Year with friends and relatives so will make their way back.
most older people do. younger people dont tend to those in their late teens/early twenties just want to go out and get pissed on new years eve. this is also the age group most likely to cause trouble.
I dare say that quite a number of them will not want to mess around trying to get out of barnsley's carpark and drive back to huddersfield (getting in around 6 at the earliest) freezing cold and then rush around getting ready to go back out, they'll probably just go straight into tarn instead for a night out in barnsley.

I think Plod's thinking (if that isn't an oxymoron) has changed since the Geordie-Mackem game a couple of months ago. The Newcy Plod altered kick-off to 1pm and then found that the fans had too much time to get p*ssed in the afternoon - leading to mass brawling in the evening.
Trouble Without Doubt like mentioned already all the young 20s late teens of both sides which is where the biggest trouble causers are will go into barnsley for the night to cause trouble. they are already dressed up for town so wont have to go home and get changed. be loads of police out around barnsley that night.
