    As baffling as I find Powell's sacking I wouldn't say his ethnicity had any influence.

    Chris Ramsey seemed a bit bewildered by it all at QPR tbf

    Why is it an issue what colour a manager is?

    An anti racism campaigner saying it's a sad day.

    Huddersfield and Qpr have wealthy owners and if managers haven't met their expectations then they will sack whoever they want when they want. Their perogative.

    Skin colour not the issue.

    I'd question why they were employed in the first place if race was an issue.

    Football has been sullied by racism for years, from the terraces, through the changing rooms to the board room, and it's still not completely rectified yet, but I don't see any here.

    hmm. hornet's nest this one. dunno about them being sacked because they were black. considering there's les ferdinand, lakshmi and fernandes in very senior roles at the club. you wouldn't have thought so.

    but townsend does make a different point. if 25% footballers are black, then 4% football managers doesn't feel right.

    Like you say JT, colour is not an issue but some people will find an issue regardless. Black, half-cast, white; it really doesn't matter to the vast majority.

    I agree that there are issues in football that need to be addressed regarding race. But to imply that things are racist when they plainly aren't does more harm than good, and means that he will be taken less seriously when he is making a legitimate point in future.

    What we need is some black former players with all their coaching badges to come forward and say they've applied for ten jobs and never got an interview.

    It won't happen in the next twenty years but people will still be moaning about it.

    colours got nothing to do with it, if a manager is successful and/or popular with a side playing attractive stuff or both there's no problem , Jimmy Floyds not having any trouble is he?
