Recently had Norton which was aHUGE mistake as it hogged resources and tookmover my PC. Anyone recommend anything better. I've heard Kaspersky and AVG are good.</p> Everyone says the free stuff is good enough, but I always have a nagging doubt. Need something that can schedule. Links would help, since some of them have a few products.</p>
Kaspersky Nothing even touches it, IMHO. Tiny footprint, unobtrusive and on every installation I've done, has found nasties that the likes of AVG and Avast have missed. Not free, but cheap enough for it not make any difference. Ebay is your friend.
RE:I tried ESET NOD 32 on recommendation ... nt on a months trial....found it VG and took out the 2 year full security package. I gave up on Norton for the same reason as the original poster as well as the fact that with a month to go it started to disable features and kept displaying reminders that the subscription was nearly expired. ! month? FFS!
