    Wasn't the problem that he was always out with his mates?

    Maybe moving away from Barnsley has made him more professional.

    He was sacked for constantly breaking the Clubs rules on drinking before games. </p>

    I was once down at Oakwell to watch training.

    Two players turned up late and the worse for drink, they were sent home.

    Davey was very nasty in training to quite a few of Richies old squad. In fact it bordered on schoolboy type bullying.

    That is very true

    and if JC went down as often as he did to slag off the previous manager , he would have seen what went on and not just releid on heresay.

    Hardest working manager in this division apparently :D :D :D

    The other player involve also left the Club.

    Ritchie allowed the players free rein and they didn't like professional approach of Davey.

    They had it too easy under AR.

    Davey treated the players already there differently to those he signed.

    Thats a fact, I saw it and so did a few others too.
    But I am not arguing about the past.

    I live on the same street as where Kay used to live and Howard and Heckingbottom still live and I can say that Kay was out a lot on the lash. The amount of times we got woken by pissed up idiots making noise only to look outside and it was Kay and Howard. I couldnt believe that professional sportsmen at this level would want to get pissed so much. When Davey came in Howard seemed to adjust better and wasn't out as much.

    who was the other?

    only one statement about a player drinking was ever issued and that was about one player not two. why was the other player protected while kay was hung out to dry?
