Any brickies / builders - got a few brick questions!

Thinking of having a garden wall rebuilt. Cant get a match to house bricks, so going for some different bricks but have a few probably silly questions...

1. Facing bricks - is the pattern/colour just on one side face and one end, and plain on the other face and end?

2. Want a double wall with "rowlock" bricks on the top - so both ends of the brick will be visible. If the answer to 1. above is "only one end is patterned" then what is the solution - do I need a special type or name of brick for the top "rowlock" bricks?

3. Anyone know the going rate for laying about 600 bricks plus sand cement etc - I would remove old wall and supply new bricks
