I was with BT Broadband for 18 months paying about £170 per quarter including telephone calls and the like. I switched to Talk Talk when we had a kid and our income dropped and am now paying £30 per month all-in, which represents a vast different in price and is much more manageable, being payable monthly. Presumably, I'm pretty much using the same wiring and telephone exchange externally? I have a Dlink wireless router which I understand are reputable. Why the **** can Talk Talk not provide a consistent service? I think BT dropped out twice in 18 months. Talk Talk drops out a number of times an hour. I don't download anything, pretty much just browsing and online shopping and the like, so it's not the worst thing in the world, jusy very annoying. Do BT control the exchange? Do they ensure that their own customers get priority and uninterupted service or something and then the rest end up with what's left. Any explaination would be useful. Thanks.
Reight... ...by the looks of your monthly charge I'd say your on Talk Talk's own network (LLU). Yes, it's run via the BT exchange and line but Talk Talk own the equipment you're using within the exchange (it's much more cost effective than renting it from BT). The problem with this is that sometimes they can overload the amount of people on their own network which can have significant problems for speed, reliability etc - it looks like this is the case for you. Is it happening at a certain time daily or just randomly? There are certain things you can try that might help but it's not guarenteed. PM me if you've got any more questions mate.
Talk Talk are a sack of ****. I threatened legal action against them when they insisted i paid my contract up. They backed down knowing full well they were 100% in the wrong. Never again.
