Any design/ logo/ JPEG experts out there?

    The charity I work for has just been given a new logo, designed by a well meaning volunteer. In itself, it's an OK logo, but there are several problems with it.

    Firstly he's sent it in PDF format, which means we can do sod all with it.

    Secondly, it's too wide to be usefully used on some websites.

    I've converted it to JPEG using one of the free conversion sites, but the quality is reduced. Any ideas what we can do?

    No, not really.... it's taken him a long time to come up with this design, and with the greatest respect I don't think it's his area of expertise.

    Trying to find a way of making it work.

    I see Tomi has kindly offered to do it for you but just in case I don't mind having a go if you have problems.

    Incidentally, this is a really good program for processing images http://www.getpaint.net/

    You can do all kinds of things including re-sizing (which is more difficult than you think especially when enlarging things) and adding special effects, altering colours, changing contrast etc. I used it for my face masks and it worked a treat!

    Paint.NET is a good program indeed (I use it too!), but if you really want something simple that still gets the basics (resizing, adjusting colours/contrast, cropping, rotating, etc.) done, I would suggest Irfanview. :)

    Looks good, just downloaded and started playing with it. It allows fine adjustment of rotation, which Paint.Net doesn't (as far as I know). That's really useful when making cardboard face masks if the photo you are working from is slightly tilted!

    I work in an architect's practice so this sort of thing is pretty run of the mill for me if you ever need a similar favour in future just pm
