I've been using an ecig now for around 18 months and I've never had one that lasts over 6 weeks! Anyone recommend a good one? Also has it helped anyone else stop smoking?

Nip down to Wombwell and see Russell at Totally Inspired. Mate of I mine I used to work with. It's next to G-Tec at the Stairfoot end of the main drag.

Yep I use them and have done since last December. Helped me to stop after 27 years although my mate would argue that I am more addicted to my ecig than I was to proper fags.

I have never had a cartomiser last more than 4-5 weeks but they are not meant to last forever, they are "consumable" I.e. They get knackered and you should expect them to. You can buy the cartomisers that have a replaceable toking bit (the bit in the cartridge that gets clogged) and the replacement bits are only a couple of quid. I stopped with them when I started trying to unscrew the cartridge from the battery to charge it ip, unscrewed the wrong bit and the liquid pissed out over me. I think 6 quid for a bog standard cartomiser that lasts 4-5 weeks is ok when I used to spend 6 quid a day on fags.

To be honest, most of mine don't get near 5 weeks as my *** falls over on the counter top and cracks the case long before that. I can ruin them at the rate of one a week easy. Still better than fags though

It helped me massively. I had been trying to give up for about 5 years and was intermittently on and off the cigarettes during that time. I decide between Christmas and New Year a few years back to give them a try. I reckoned if I could get through Hogmanay using one then there was no reason for me to revert back. I've been off them now for coming up to 2 years. I still get cravings but they tend to pass really quickly.

I probably used the e-cig for about 3 months everyday and then just used it when I went out on the lash. In the last 6 months I've stopped using them when I’m out and I'm grand now. If you want to stop, you'll stop. I had started a new activity and found that I didn't enjoy doing that as much when I was smoking so that was a big motivator for me.

    Good luck :)

I bought two from socialites in the alambra and it was 46 quid, think it lasted around 2 weeks before both batteries knackered up. I've not touched a *** for 18 months, just yet to find an e cig that is half decent. I will say this though if you want a good quality liquid go to doncaster market in a Tuesday or Friday and see the lads in there! Best stuff I've ever bought and cheap too! Skittles flavour in 18mg is gorgeous.

I find myself using my e cig much more than I would a *** and that's what I find strange, that people can stop smoking and then use an e cig and then just stop using the e cig after x amount of time. I have no cravings for a cig anymore, just huge cravings for a puff in the ecig! In fact, if I don't have the ecig in my hand I feel as though I'm missing something. Highly addictive but as people have said, much better than smoking.

That's exactly the same as my experience. I didn't switch to them with the intention of them being a quit aid. I switched to them as a hopefully safer form of smoking and if it leads to me giving up then fine but I am not putting any pressure on myself to do so. Its true that I find myself using it more than I smoked fags because I can use it where I wouldn't have smoked such as in the house.

I find myself with "ecig anxiety" now. I cant leave the house without my cig being topped up with juice and a spare battery in my pocket. If i am going to be out more than a few hours I take the bottle of juice with me!

Just out of interest, my batteries have lasted me forever, its just the cartridge that should be expected to clog up in a few weeks and need replacing
What I do find though is if there is any leakage into the battery end I need to regularly poke a bit of bog roll into the end of the battery part to clean out the leakage otherwise it seriously affects the performance
