I know a lad who is on subs in Plymouth who supported the Reds when he lived up here. I don't know if he's on the BBS.
12 years man and boy, but back in the days when the ships were made of wood and the men of steel joined in 69. 2 Ark royal tours including its last one and the one after Sailor was on TV. World trip on the Arethusa, I count myself as very very lucky. I joined and did 12 years without a shot fired in anger. Left on the Friday and the Falklands was invaded the week after. I kept trying for HMS Sheffield for the local connection and had I signed on I would have got it as Master at Arms, when she was hit by the excocet it struck exactly where the MAA was at action stations, ....... there but for the grace of god.

I remember when I was working in Hong Kong one Sunday evening I had just opened the bar wearing my big thing top and there was this shout of you reds, two or three lads walked into the bar saying they supported the reds turns out they were off a sub docked at stone cutters island ... That was a drunken evening ...
