Forget those - get yourself one of these Superb sound
Compact size
Good price.
Got myself one in the summer for my holidays. Absolutely brilliant. Read the reviews.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Harman-JBL-Portable-Speaker-System/dp/B00064A0AU/sr=8-1/qid=1159462802/ref=sr_1_1/026-5020998-6898022?ie=UTF8&s=electronics

good stuff.. cheers
couple of questions though..
where does the ipod plug in? I really wanted like a 'dock' rather than via a cable.. and do you get a plug/adapter with it rather than just relying on batteries? There's nowt on Amazon to tell you what you get with it...

RE: good stuff.. It's a white unit with a top that slides back to reveal the speakers (The photo isn't very good for showing that).
When the top slides back it forms two rear "feet" that tilt the speakers to a slight angle. The picture shows it with the top open - it takes on the same sort of shape as a traffic speed hump.
The input and outputs are at the back. It comes with an audio cable to connect to your ipod (3.5mm Jack plug type). There is an ac adaptor at the back too, but i don't think you get the cable with it, though I might be wrong.
It takes 4xAAA batteries that last ages, and I have never had the need for an electrical supply.
The main thing though is the sound quality. For a little portable unit it's superb. It is also slim enough to drop into an inside pocket, is nice to look at, shuts off automatically when you close the lid, remembers what volume it was the last time you used it and is easy to turn on and off.
I use mine with a Creative 40gb mp3 player and am highly satisfied.
Excellent value in my opinion.
