Just wondering in this day and age of technology that they don't seem to be able to take CCTV footage that's clear and not all grainy, the one picture published of the Brussels airport bombers was so grainy that they couldn't identify the bombers until the Yanks helped them. Surely technology is better than this?
The barrier to CCTV isn't the ability to produce an image, the barrier comes to storing and recording it. HD video uses up to 4gb of data per hour. An airport such as LAX has over 3000 cameras...and their new system cost them nearly thirty million dollars. I think it's money well spent, but these are the kinds of challenges that town centres and anywhere that requires a high level of security faces.
