ive got an 1800cc eunos roadster 16 years old mind and just think it should accelerate a bit quicker than it does, our other car is an aclass merc deizel and its a toss up which is quicker.

Nah they don't exactly go as fast or accelerate as quickly as they look like they should. I've got same model of Eunos on an old G plate. God awful in the wet on hills of Dee Dah land as well

If it's lost its acceleration it could well be it needs a new air flow meter.
Only a garage could confirm it though.
If it is the air flow meter it's well worth replacing it. It would make a big difference.
There should be an owners club that will know what the problem is likely to be.

I had a 1.6 and that was pretty nifty because they're light. A common problem with MX-5's are HT Leads, make sure they're not breaking down cos that would effect the acceleration.

I read in the Daily Mirror a couple of months back

that you should stay clear of the Eunos Roadster, they're more troublesome than the MX-5.

There was a lenghthy post about Mx-5's a few months back if you fancy searching for it. Maybe 3 months ago.

As far as im aware the MK 2 Mx5s with a 1.6 engine were underpowered. Unless yours was a mark 1. Mark 2s were heavier with a smaller engine. 1.8s should always be the first choice in my opinion. But what do i know! :D
