Switching from android to apple. Have 500mb data. with android it is easy to monitor with a homescreen widget showing wifi and 3G data used in current billing cycle.

Can anyone recommend a good cheap (preferably free) iphone app that does this. I'm guessing usage will not be visible on screen and that you have to run the app to get the details ?

    TIA

Iphone tells you in settings-general-usage-mobile usage. Just have to reset to your contract start date each month to get accurate usage figures.

But you have to reset it every time you renew your minutes usage etc

Your not charged for wifi, that 500mb is for the 3G. Its off your own/shared router to my limited knowledge. You just sync your phone to your own wifi hub or free wifi area and turn off mobile data owd chap. Yes, this is what i do mesen! ;-)

If you're on orange text usage to 150, if not, there's a useless fact for you :)

500mb should be enough if you don't download loads of apps on 3g. I have 1gb and didn't quite use 500mb last month despite going a bit mad on apps. Its a slight nause to keep track but as you say set an alarm or reminder and you shouldn't go far wrong.

Most service providers have a app that tells you your usage. 3 does and I am sure O2 does too
