How do you get to matches? Has anyone found a cheap route using trains?
    I've recently moved to Chorley & it's £33 return!

I used to go Manchester Piccadilly to Sheffield, Sheffield to Barnsley. Not sure how much it is now but it takes about 1 hour 20 minutes.

Whichever way you go, you'll have to go through either Sheffield, Huddersfield or Leeds. It's not the easiest journey by train.

    Drive now though.

Bored in my lunchbreak so had a look - the £33 is via Manc P and Sheffied you can get it down to £30 going via Manc V and Huddersfield 2 and a half hours each way either route The London Tykes (whats left of them) can get there quicker and for similar money! - think a car looks a better option at least an hour quicker each way and the cost will be similar

I did the return journey on £17 of diesel on Sunday, thing is I like to have a drink with the lads, so driving kind of gets in the way of that!

Buy your train tickets in advance. 11:20 and 12:20 train from Manchester Piccadilly to Sheffield are a fiver on 20th December for Orient game. Return train to Manchester is a fiver on 19:10 or 20:10. Standard return to Barnsley from Sheffield is £5.10. Standard return from Chorley to Piccadilly is £8.70. £23.80 for the lot.

It'll be the same for every game. All done on Red spotted Hanky.

Get a lift to and from Manchester from Chorley and it's £15.10.

I live closer to Euxton train station than I do Chorley, trains go to Liverpool from Euxton so that could be an option
