<img src ="http://www.kidicraft.co.uk/acatalog/movie.gif"> I am trying to think of a way of catching insects visiting flowers (its called work) that catches them unawares and hence does not effect the location of any pollen on their bodies. Any smart ideas?
In sound BBS tradition I did biology for a bit at school and am therefore well qualified to advise on such things. Have you tried superglue?
You could try Dropping tree sap on them and fosilising them over a few million years into amber and then studying them Is that any help?
A waft of ether with a strategically placed butterfly net below the insect to catch it as the aneasthetic takes effect.
Thats more like it Thanks for those. I was expecting more violent suggestions. But its nice to know what a kind lot of gentle bug lovers you all are.
Sneak up behind one, stand behind it slightly to the left and tap it on its right shoulder. When it turns round, do the vulcan nerve grip on the now exposed left shoulder and voila. Alternatively, keep one talking while a centipede sneaks up and takes a position just behind its legs, then push it over. Won't keep the pollen, but it'd be funny.
Rubbish. It's quite clear that the only way to keep the pollen intact is hypnosis. I've never met a bee hypnotist, in fact it sounds like a googlewhack, but I think they must exist. "When I click my fingers - you will bite into an imaginary onion, Mr Bee". Bee Hypnosis. It'll be on Channel Five before you know it.
