Looks as if the club have done a good job of alienating a lot of true Barnsley fans while accomodating a lot of big game hanger's on (through the friend of a friend who is a season ticket holder). For the last 12 years or so I've missed an average of about 3 games each season. I'm not a season ticket holder at the moment for the following reasons: 1. Not keen on such a large cash outlay in one go 2. None of my friends are either 3. I tend to go with different groups of people to each match so I don't want to commit to sitting in the same stand 4. Matchdays for me often involve staying out for quite a while after enjoying alcohol - the season ticket would get lost more than once in a season 5. There are more reasons I just haven't thought of em Now I have managed to get hold of a ticket for the match although it's not in my hands yet so I'm not getting too excited about it yet but does anyone have any suggestions that could be put forward to the club about handling this type of match in future? A lot of clubs have these Fancard systems where you can basically tell which supporters are hardcore and the ones who go to the occasional match - this is regardless of whether they are a season ticket holder or not, if the season ticket holder doesn't go to the match, it doesn't go on the Fancard. That system may not be practical for Barnsley as matches like this recently have been few and far between but surely there is another way.
