................ever made of a Barnsley player at the WELL........

A lost soul that needs to come home to the place that put him on the big stage........he's simply unplayable at Championship level

And if Flicker can (which we all know that he can) get this guy anywhere near where he was when he was here last time then
    LETS GET READY TO RUMBLE!!!!!!!!

I've said for a while that he'd be a perfect player for Flicker to rebuild. I'd love to see him back.

After watching that video I actually really want him back.

As others have said i think Flicker would be able to get back that form that he had and could help our push up the table.

    Gerrim signed.

A player of the highest quality, gone missing last few years needs stability and time on the pitch, would love to see him back in a reds shirt!!! What a talent!

Hammill was class... Jim O'Brien but with an end product

Would love to see him back at Oakwell...

Flair and quality that would create goals and add bums on seats...

Have to say that video shows Hammill as absolute quality. Some of those goals are truly stunning efforts and you do forget just how good the lad was in a Reds shirt. Not sure of his contract situation at Wolves but at only 25 I'm sure someone like Flicker could bring out his best again.
    Be nice to find out......

Crazy how keen people are to get any former player back to Oakwell. Some folk just can't move on. A lot on here want them back in a very visceral way, base it on what they have done recently not on what they did at the well. That includes Butterfield, Hammill, Howard, and whoever else you mawkish sods want to bring back ha!

Would also say- was a big fan of all of the above in their time at the Well but just think when they move on so should we!

People want these players back because they were quality for us; the best we've had in recent years. The fact that they had their best times at Oakwell means they'd also be more likely to want to come than other players of similar quality. If they could recapture the form of their previous spell, anyone who would turn them down is crazy.

It's no use looking at what players have done recently, because if they were pulling up trees at Championship level then we'd have no chance of signing them. We can only compete to sign rough diamonds (Perkins, Dawson, Dagnall) or a quality player that's lost his way (Mellis, Etuhu, Vaz Te). We know that Hammill can be a great Championship player so he's the sort of player we should be looking to sign. He's only 25 so has plenty of years left in him.

If he is only 25 years old then Flicker will get him playing again.......just like we all know he can play

Out of the two of Vaz Te and Hammill.............I think Hammill was much the better player while he was with us

I'd forgotten just how good he was in the red shirt.

Can remember going to college then jumping straight on the train to Preston on a tuesday night, never forgot that goal!

As soon as we could get him back the better in my opinion

He's had two successive relegations meaning contracted pay cuts, I'd be surprised if he's on half of that. It's in his interests to get back to the championship soon as poss.

Believe me, he'll have took at least a 33% wage cut after the Prem relegation. I imagine it'll be something similar for a Championship relegation. So if your figure of 16k is correct, then he's doing well if he's now earning more than 5k a week.

Easily within budget. Especially if he accepts another pay cut owing to his lower league status and the fact that this club is well known for igniting/reigniting careers..
