Listen up, here's the story.

My PC is in little box-room. My Playstation2 is in the bedroom right next to the PC bedroom. My new Nintendo Wii is quite a distance away from these rooms in my front room. Just found out that I could really benefit from having my Wii connected to the net. Now, my PS2 is connected to the net via a router and ethernet cable (a hole is drilled through bedroom wall leading to my PC for ethernet cable to fit through). Now, my Wii needs connecting wirelessly to the net, but I have no idea how to go about setting any of this up. Any help or suggestions kindly appreciated.

Really that simple? So my current connections wont be interrupted? My PS2 etc? What about privacy, would others be able to access the internet from my wireless connection - neighbours etc? Sorry to be a wally, im a novice at this completely.

then yes. just plug the wireless base station into the router. It generally comes with instructions on setting up, but the major thing to be aware of is setting a password. or every man and his dog with range can get onto your computer. The wireless hub I have is Belkin which works well off my NTL router

I have fitted this on telewest a couple of times:

Its easy. Take network cable from modem into the back of this. Network cable that comes with this into the back of the pc. Turn the modem on and off, turn this on and it just works. Easy. Then 5 minutes to set up the security.

You'd need a wireless dongle for PS2 the Wii has got wireless built in as mine is connected to internet. U'd be able to get a kit with wireless router and dongle so u don't have to buy them seperate

How/what is it connected to at the minute?

I have never connected any consoles to my network. But, the wireless router has 4 ethernet ports. So you can plug your computer and ps2 into it using standard network cables. The wii can connect via the wireless from across the house.

RE: are you on cable or adsl?

Its connected by ethernet cable straight into the router, same as my PC is. So is it just a matter of replacing my current router like for like for that wireless one, then I can still connect everything the same as they are now, but I can also connect wirelessly my Wii? Sounds simple enough if thats the case.

Also is setting up a password easy enough? Dont want people sharing my connection.

It should be that simple. Connect the uplink to your cable modem. Then use the other ports in the same way as a normal router. Using a computer connected via cable, you connect to the router using your browser and the username/password in the quick start guide. Then change the admin password, and set a wep or wpa wireless password. Pretty easy, it should all be in the manual, although I didnt even open that, the quick start leaflet was good enough.
