It's news to me at least. He's had a good season at Southend by all accounts, named in the League 2 team of the year. Would be an inexpensive gamble, but a gamble he would be, seen as though the majority of his experience is at League 2 level.
Hope not he's slower than my nan. Chesterfield trying their best to sign him. He wants to come home for family reasons.
Im sorry, but it we cant be after this lad....got to be aiming higher than him... http://www.echo-news.co.uk/sport/bl...ign_Southend_United_s_Ryan_Cresswell/?ref=rss
I bet Peterborough fans thought the same when Dwight Gale signed for 500k last season from Dagenham & Redbridge (League 2). Until he scored 13 goals in 28 games. Now Aston Villa/QPR want him for £3m but Peterborough value him at £10m. I know this example isn't directly relevant to us but players who have made the step up and shown the hunger, quality and determination and maybe appreciate the opportunity to step up a division or two - like Dawson, Golbourne, Perkins, Etuhu, Wiseman, are. I would rather us sign them than a big name signing like Mido, who will initially excite fans but has already played at the highest level and his motivation and determination would probably drop dramatically after he has signed a contract and got his money.
