Anybody agree with me on the Big Craig dilemma?

As I said earlier in my welcome back Big Frank thread, I am guessing that KK will stick Davies and Nouble wide of Andy Andy Gray.
Now, I am not saying I want that, just that I can see KK go down that route, possibly with Cotts/Done in the hole?
    .
My dilemma, or head-scratching re Davies, is just where to use him effectively.
I dont see him as a wide player, but do understand KK's thinking behind it.
During his goal spree late last year, playing the lone frontman role, he had Vaz Te and Jimbo wide of him, with Butterfield behind. The opposition didnt know who to take care of IMO. Do they concentrate on Jake, and leave Vaz, Jim and Craig in space? Or do they focus on the wide players, leaving Jake to feed Davies? It was a conundrum no doubt. And it pains me to imagine how this year could have gone if we hadnt lost 3 of those. And thats without mentioning Drinkwater and Perkins...
    .
Since the dismantling of said strikeforce, our goals have dried up somewhat, and given our defence more pressure.
By playing Davies central, we then need 3 new players to step up, and allow him the space to thrive, or, to feed him chances. And when was the last time you saw him played through on goal..?
He's had scraps, if anything. Until, Cotterill got wide ala O'Brien, against Brum, and fed Big Craig to score. But Michael Tonge is no Jacob Butterfield. He has to play deeper IMO. I dont see Digger or Dawson in the hole either, so that leaves Done or Cotts. I am yet to be convinced that Dagnall is worth a squad number, let alone a key role in the first team. Hopefully, a pre-season behind him will see him kick on next year.
    .
    So, what would you do?
Do we play Gray/Nouble central, with Davies and another wide?
Where does Matty Done fit in, our most threatening player of late? Surely we now have to see Cotts starting, but again, where?
    Or do we go 442??
    .
Personally, I would play Davies wide - tonight at least - and Done on the other flank, with Cotterill supporting Gray.
Then Korey and Digger central, and saturdays back 5 but Golbourne rather than Jay.
    .
    Thoughts people?

What do you do with Craig? You play him up front where he has scored for fun for us and where he scored for fun for Chesterfield.

What you DONT do with him is play him up front on his own and just lump hopeless balls to his head all day or play him out on the wing with a statue in the middle.

absolute wast playing davies wide. his touch is awful, but a least in the middle, he can just hit them from 20 yards. don't get me started on dagnall or nouble, can't fecking believe those 2 may be in the same team.

My personally opinion whitey his that Davies like to run with the ball and he's got a decent shot from 20 yards out.

Playing him up front without the quick attacking threat of Butterfield, drinkwater, vaz te and o'brien. We used to be so quick and davies could run at there centre backs or get the ball when he's run for it like at Posh away and put it away.

So by playing him from wide and letting him roam he can get the space to run at the defenders and shoot. we've had a bit of bad luck recently with him hitting the bar/ post 3/4 matches before Coventry match.

starting from wide doesn't mean you can't go into middle and shoot. Look at Ashley Young at WHL, got the ball wide, run at the centre backs and shoot. Cristiano Ronaldo for example scored the most goals in la Liga ever by playing wide and running at centre backs and full backs.

He's not a out and out target man, but he does more than poach.
he scored a lot of goals at chesterfield by dropping deap and shooting from 20 odd yard out. Or with balls over the top and running on to them.
    Comes out wide,

Davies needs quality around him to produce the goals give him ball in right area and he will score, if we had continued with Butterfield,Drinkwater and Vaz Te he would be looking at 20+ for the season.
