Give yourself plenty of time as actually getting to the ground once your in stoke is a nightmare. Its on the outskirts of town and parking is a bitch. They let the home fans out first which blocks all the away fans in, when i went we were sat for 45 mins before they let us out.
The journey to stoke should take about an hour and a half but thats without taking traffic into consideration.
    Im going early afternoonish.

I'm going from Penistone and I'm going over Woodhead and past Manschester Airport and then South on the M6 and off at J15.

1 hour tops, trust me it's the easiest way unless you set off after 4.00 then it's a bloody nightmare.

Go down M1 to A50 turn off near East Mid Airport. Then A50 signposted Stoke. Dual carriageway all way . Britannia Stadium is on left as you get near Stoke. It is much easier than the Manchester way, but warning there are roadworks on M1 Junct. 30 to 31

    Yep

I very much doubt I'm going your way though, plus I won't be bringing a spare helmet.

I work in Stoke and live in Derby, I've been all ways to Stoke from Barnsley and by far the easiest way is Down the M1 to J28, down the A38 to the A50, west on the A50 to Stoke, get to the A500 and turn sharp left before you actually get onto the A500, the road loops back on itself to a roundabout, take a left here back over the a500 and you'll come to campbell rd which is an industrial sort of area, park somewhere here and you can walk over the bridge to the Britannia.
I'd allow at least an hour and half driving, possibly 2 hours.

    Best way.
Remember flying down about 5-6 years ago in mi t'old VR6 when we laiked them in the (league?) cup. Had a few drinks in their club beside the ground (only 2 of us in there with Barnsley shirts on and 1 was a lass!). Can't reight remember the score, I know we lost , the weather was atrocious but I still hammered it home as I had a promise on!

No offence mate but that's rubbish. By the time you get to the A38 and head down the dual carriageway towards Derby, you can be the otherside of Manchester Airport and heading to the M6. South down M6 to J15and follow the A50 to Brittania Stadium.

Do not trust your sat nav unless you ask to go via Manchester Airport!

It is by far the easiest route. I havea bet with my mate that I can do Penistone to Stoke in 1 hour!
