Probably just me being a numpty.

 

So how did he do? I'm not a big boxing fan, so I'm unable to give a very informed opinion. Looked like he'd got plenty of heart, but he seemed to be blocking the other guy's jabs with his face. I'm not sure you're supposed to do that.

 

Very raw, but he has got some bottle. His technique is poor, but that is to be expected after only 4 1/2 months training. He needs to learn to set his punches up better and stop "arm" punching, he needs to set himself and get some leverage into his punches, but for a first ever fight he did ok, i think anyway. He aint going to win any World titles though!

 

Probably the best result for him. He won the fight, although I think most of what the McGuigans taught him went out the window when he kept going windmilling in, but he did get caught with a short left hook that will have made him realise that if he fights anyone better than a fat bloke he could get hurt. He can therefore take the acclaim for his achievement and make a graceful exit with his pride (and face) intact. Although the call of the crowd...
