Mr Ali has had a few done

one in Bradford area. One in Lincoln. Lincoln NOT recommended took months. Bradford way was excellent. Now puts them in himself!

As long as they are checked by a pro & certificated insurance is no problem

im thinking the same got rover 75 i think someone on here already converted one and is pleased with the result Was told yesterday by car mechanic that gas convertions are suseptable to extra wear to top of engine as gas has no natural lubricant in it and perol does?

thinking about it though, it shount matter, cos if im right, LPG cars run on LPG most of time, but if they run out of LPG, dunt they switch to using petrol???

    Yep start on petrol

and go onto gas when revs high enough. When revs drop back on petrol.

Our 1st 1 was a very old Alfa 33 Sportswagon. We ran it for about 50k ands sold it on as a working car. Didnt seem to cause undue wear

We had our Rover 75 converted in 06 and its great so far.

The cat starts on npetrol and when the engine is warm enough switches automatically to gas.
The performance does not suffer at all, the emissions are a lot lower too, basically only water vapour.
The mpg is approx 8% down, but considering the difference in price , it still saves us a lot of money.
    Petrol £1.01 a litre, LPG 50p a litre, no-brainer really.

Get it done , you know it makes sense.

If anyone needs anymore advice PM me .

LPG is Liquid Petroleum Gas or to put it another way

Propane, the same stuff as in the red bottles.

It cost us about £1750, but it will maybe different for different engines.

Yes. had an audi a4 2.6 running on lpg for 6 years

    no bother.

Great on long journeys, not so good on short trips as the engine has to warm up before the gas will work so hence <4 miles must be on petrol.

    It's a by-product of natural gas extraction (I think)

so the "ground to pump" cost to the environment is minimal (I don't know what they'd do with it if they didn't provide it as fuel). The government have promised not to hike up the tax on it in the foreseeable future, not that their promises mean much.
