been with them for 6 months without any problems until i moved house last month. moved to a brand new house with no phone line. talktalk dont activate lines so i now have to pay bt £125 to activate my line. but they won't activate it unless i take out a 12 month contract. so i then have to pay a £80 cancellation fee before waiting another month for talktalk redo my internet. other than that they have been fine

Yes mate only been live for 2/3 weeks after waiting 3 flipping months for them to set broadband up(furious) (furious) anyway got to the bit where you have to confirm your user name and password as stated in your welcome letter and talk talk's server wouldn't recognise it !!!! Spoke to there customer services after waiting 40 minutes and got connected to some sweat shop call centre in Bombay and spoke to a robot who had no grasp of the queens english or my query. Got peed off with the fool and rang next day.luckily and thank the Lord I got put through to their English call centre in Hartlepool and a lovel lady helped me out. Now I've bored you with my woes try this mate !!!!.

Just change your password to abc123 this is the generic password to get you on the system.

If that dosen't work ring the brodband helpline and demand that you are given a manual set up over the phone, this involves you sat on the computer (so have it set up and ready) and they go through the Internet Wizard manual set up.

Couple of pointers for you mate.

The system fails all the time at peak periods, been told that talktalk haven't invested enough coin in their own servers and the whole thing crashes when it gets busy. You can be on for 10 minutes then it will fail, so you have to click the unplug modem hardware icon, wait 10 seconds and replug your modem back in and connect again. This happens all the time mate. I know talktalk or cheap but if I'd have known what I know know I would not have gone for them. If after christmas mine keeps failing I told the lady at Hartlepool I would just cancel my direct debit and go to BT or Virgin as they are in breach of their contract by failing to provide a service as stated in their t&c's.

The best thing about talktalk is the unlimited landline and international landlline calls free of charge.

Now I've bored you shi*eless.......good luck
