Anybody having problems with sky tv?

    We've been having problems with the fact the digi box won't turn on anymore...the light just stays red, it's been like this on and off for a few week now...very annoying. Bu twhen my mum went to get a new box she was told not to bother coz skys being 'crap at the moment' Anybody any ideas if anything is going on with sky?

    Sounds like a problem with the box, not Sky

    I have noticed that the on/off buttons, on the Panasonic boxes at least, are a bit temperamental (i.e. crap). Patience is required. Which is cheaper than a new box.

    I find it works better when turned on from the remote than on the box itself (as long as you haven't hit the "TV" button on the Sky remote by mistake, of course . . .)

    Hmm

    i dunno, i don't think it's anything like that im afraid, i mean its been working sometimes, then other times just won't turn on. I wouldve thought it'd be the box, but it's worked for a few years since we've had it, so i dont know why it'd stop now, maybe they only have limited lifetime, but thats a bit crap!
    And i agree with the turning on with the control comment, its what we always do usually but again this doesn't work

    on the new box front never ever pay. just threaten to cancel and they will give you a free one.
