Forgive the mention of 'The Fowls' but I lived and played football with Edwin Holiday from Royston. He played with Cloughie at Middlesborough and later for Sheffield Wed and England. I passed the gate man a ten bob note and climbed over the turnstyle to see Wed play Santos (plus Pele) they were losing at half time 3-0 and Pulled the game back due to a brilliant display by Edwin. He outshone Pele and all. Has anybody heard of him since. He hails from Royston ?
