For the A50: Enter the City via Uttoxeter bypass (M1/M6 link road) and through Meir and the new Meir Tunnel. Continue on the road until you pass Stoke City's Britannia Stadium. Carry on for about 1.5 miles until you reach a series of mini roundabouts (3) and go straight across all these and on to High Lane, then take the fourth left which is Hamil Road. Vale Park is on the right. By Rail: Trains run to the main Stoke on Trent station. From there, you can catch a bus (No 24) to Burslem town centre. The Ground is situated on Hamil Road (By the traffic lights, go past the Red Lion on your left and Hamil Road is the second left turning) Parking: Hamil Road car park (Zone C) £4.00 per car £20.00 per coach £12.50 per mini bus Normid car park: £4 per car Around The Ground: Vale Park is situated in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent and has been the home of the Valiants for more than 50 years. The ground is made up of four major stands called the Lorne Street Stand, the Carling Stand, the Big Stand, which has the Disabled Stand to one side and the Family Stand to the other. The Phones 4U Stand is located on Hamil Road and houses up to 4,500 away supporters. Where to eat: On the Hamil Road car park there is a burger van or if you prefer fans can get something from inside the ground where there is a kiosk. New lines have been introduced this season so there is lots of variety and the prices are very reasonable, with the most expensive Pie/pasty of offer at £1.40.
There's one about 500 yards from the ground ...... .... turn right out of the car park and it's on the left. It's away friendly in that they let you in, and there will be plenty of Barnsley fans in there, but a word of caution, there have been a few 'isolated incidents' at Port Vale over the last few years and some have occcurred on the walk to the ground from that pub. Vale have a very small number of idiots but generally they are cowards and pick on people walking up on their own or in pairs so it's advisable to walk back up to the ground when the majority of reds fans leave the pub
Didn't someone who posts on here get cracked on the back of the head at Port Vale? And got little support from the local bobbies.
Yes, remember it being mentioned last season .... ... think it was somewhere between the ground and that pub I am on about. There has been incidents at Vale for the last 3 years. Apart from the one you have mentioned, there was a bit of a set to around the coaches in the car park last season after the game and the stewards were absolutely clueless. The season before our coach was 'bricked' by some youths who appeared from nowhere in a side street as we were being escorted away from the ground, they threw their bricks then disappeared down the same street when 40 of Macey's lads got off the bus (in about 30 seconds) "to ask them nicely what they were playing at!" It's odd because there's no real 'history' between the two clubs, and they get crap crowds but summat always seems to go off. Must just be cos it's a **** hole of a place full of in-bred numpties!!
2 seasons back Lost 3-1, walking past the Vine, 50 idiots had a go. Took a pretty good pasting, as did the two lads I was with.
Well dealt with by club and police however, eventually. But watch yourselves, cos its definately the worst place I've been, or at least the worst place for the size of support. Don't wear colours if you plan on venturing away from the ground or bus car park.

Port Vale Reserves attacked! In about 1987 the Port Vale reserve team were attacked outside Park Road chippy after their game at Oakwell. Anyone else remember this? Maybe that's why they like lobbing bricks at Barnsley supporert's coaches. Apart from that incident, the earliest recollection i have of Burslem is the 3-0 FA Cup defeat in 76/77 and there was a right old ding-dong in the car park after the match - bloody freezing it was that day too.
