I have no idea, I doubt it's something that will happen overnight mainly due to the grey areas when it comes to defining what's freedom of speech and what's incitement to terror / hatred / murder.
RE: I wonder if Gordon Brown will try and do the same ?? nt Maybe - it does appear that he's going to take a different tack on this sort of thing and issues that may, or may not, be related to the situation (Iraq, our relationship with America, etcetera). If you look at things like the knighthood of Salman Rushdie it does indicate a sea-change in the government's attitude. When all's said and done, some of the Muslim organisations do need a serious kick up the arse not because they're terrorists or advocate terrorism but because they're just a bit unrealistic about fundamentalism - it has been suggested the Rushdie knighthood was the start of that kicking... The problem is that it's such a f**ked up situation - taken on face value I don't disagree with what was said by the Australian government but, if handled the wrong way, these things can just turn into one big, bad Muslim bashing session which is neither practical, nor helpful.
If you read the Koran, as I have you would realise that it is not dissimilar to Mein Kampf by one A. Hitler.
