may sound a really daft question, but we recently bought a second hand SLR camera, and the lens came with what we think are two seperate filters (polarizing and skylight/UV filter) but I don't know how to get them apart (doh).

only reason we think they should come apart is one was made by Hoya in Japan and the other apparently by Luxon in Korea, but having looked at similar products on the net, it seems they are two seperate filters.

anybody know if they should screw apart or pop apart or anything.....

They normally screw off. If they've been on a while will need a good grip

thanks I'll try a bit harder lol

was a bit worried didn't want to break something, also it's a bit difficult to get a good grip with the polarizer able to turn

    thanks for the advice though

Yep they unscrew. but leave the skylight on, it is neutral and keeps the surface of your lens safe,

You dont need to take them off.

They will not adversely effect the quality of the photos unless you want to use different filters for special effects. With those on you will get true colours and no glare.
    Hopr this helps (Y) (Y)
