1. Bid accepted 2. Player arrives for Talks, deal stalls. So its obviously wages. Have we imposed a salary cap or something?
I should imagine there is a strict wage policy at Barnsleyfc. But it needs to be relaxed if we are to attract anyone ffs. (titanic)
I think I have suggested one before. I quoted something RH said before the Palace game about GS's salary structure stopping them frombringing in experience.
I suspect it's more than just wages. Constantine deal being a case in point - admits the money was great compared to his PV salary, but didn't want to play for a club where the whole infrastructure screams 'we don't give a ****'. I used to get such a thrill coming to Oakwell - when you first catch sight of the floodlights, the roof of the stand, the hairs on the back of your neck stood up.....now, on the very rare occasion I get along, I'm afraid to say my heart sinks. Crass, rash administrative decision-making, players that don't give a tuppeny **** about the shirt, the club, the town. Would you want to play for 'em?!?!?!
What's wrong?? I'm only repeating what more than one news outlet printed, mate. Don't shoot the messenger!!
Constantine asked for time to discuss his move with his family during which time Eric Hall more than likely filled his head with ideas about which clubs and what deals he could 'negotiate' for him in the summer. The same player that was available to us for £50k in the summer but the manager didnt want him.
So... is it NOT true that when he asked for time to think it over he was told "Decide by 4pm or **** off"?
"same player that was available to us for £50k in the summer but the manager didnt want him" Utter ****.
RE: "same player that was available to us for £50k in the summer but the manager didnt want him" nope. utter ****-on.
Fair Play then.. all is well. Keep feighting the feight against the non-believers, and good luck with it
How the hell did we sign Wallwork, I was listening to Ron Atkinson (on the radio) commenting when he signed for us, and he reckones he knew what WBA were paying and that we did well to sign him.
Absolute ballacks We made an offer for him but Port Vale wanted more than we were prepared to pay. Your bezzy mate said as much.
RE: "same player that was available to us for £50k in the summer but the manager didnt want him" The pattern that is emerging is that just about every player that comes up. Starting with Jones from Crewe and Jackson from Man U in the summer to Constantine takes a look around and thinks, "not for me thanks". There has to be reason for that. I think its shephard. they take one look and think, "Muppet". Just my opinion.
