If so where?

The Oakwell AM commentary team are looking for some nice, clean, friendly-run, reasonably priced accomadation, close to the Valley, or in the general vicinity. If anybody could give us any pointers, that'd be great. A place with a bar is obviously essential.

It'd be nice to have a post-match drink 'n natter with other super-reds fans who are stopping over in "That London" on Saturday night.

    Cheers in advance

Surely you'd be better getting a hotel in town rather than Charlton way

    Charlton isn't exactly Mayfair like.

    Just been....

Checking out the Antigallican hotel/pub (ideal!) on Woolwich Rd, but if you can recommend anywhere decent nearer to town that fits the bill.....

    RE: Just been....

There'sonly one that I can recommend basedon experience and thats theIBIS in the City (Algate, Commercial St area).

Its brand new and usually cheap at weekends, and it has a decent bar. Its also close(ish) to nightlife.

Its close to London Bridge too, so no major treking if you decide to drink to drink round the ground for a while after the match.

I think we're drinking in the Antigallican so look out for us before the match mate.

What time are you setting off mate?

I could possibly be tempted as not going out on the Sat night now in Barnsley... staying over and a night out in London could be good if not too expensive!

I don't know if I'll be setting off from Glasgow or Barnsley, yet. I'll keep you updated though.

We might as well all try and get somewhere together if you're definitely up for going, John. You and Allen have a look on t'interweb and see what you can find and we'll...erm....compare notes and see who comes up with the best option.

We'll certainly look out for you pre-match Harrow Tyke, cheers.

    Mitre Hotel in Greenwich....

Decent place - great food and in the centre of Greenwich, which seems a decent place to gou out. I lived in the Mitre for two weeks when i first moved to London (Y)

Mitre in Greenwich seems like a decent enough place to me

Reasonable rates 'n all. The Ibis hotel HT mentioned doesn't seem to be available for Saturday night.

Their Sunday roasts are very popular too! Opposite is Cafe Rouge - mind you, there's a host of eateries around there, and some nice pubs too.
