Just ordered and paid for the new updated maps from TomTom but can't get them onto my device cos the new bloody map is bigger than the memory I have. I have wiped off the old maps to leave room, but still not big enough.
Put in a new SD card but the download will not recognise my device with the new card. Any suggestions? Do TomTom have specially encrypted SD cards, and if so do you know how I get one? I can't see anything on their site and their customer service takes 2 days to answer emails. (seestars) (

Nope any old SD card should work. Have you plugged the SD card into something else to make sure it's not the card that's at fault?
Download TomTom Home from their website to manage the content. View the contents of your sat nav through it and remove any unwanted voices and colour schemes; they take up loads of space that you could free up for your map content.
and then start the proceedings of the divorce, map reading between husband and wife is like a nazi and a jew been stuck in a lift
You were doing well til you mentioned the wife reading it Ok if travelling north as right on the map is right as you are driving....screwed if travelling south, they just can't seem to cope without having to turn the map upside down!
Well thanks folks! It was a nightmare but eventually managed it after about 4 hours and possibly 40 -50 attempts. I think the software must be a bit shitty, first it said that a 1GB card hadn't enough room, then it wouldn't recognise the device, then it said I was using a different device or login, then it said that my perameters or something weren't right, any frigging excuse it could.
In the end it became exhausted beforeI did and finally did it. It seems ok now but disappointed to find that, two versions after my last one there are still roads round the area that it simply does not recognise, AND it tried to direct me through a gate and up a muddy footpath at Cawthorne!
