Yes, the road in the background is the one leading to Cundy Cross. What is now Stairfoot roundabout is just to the right of this pic.

 

Not Redfearns its Rylands then Beatson Clarks site.

 

Thanks for that - just looking at the Town End ones, reckon it's Summer Lane at the top, as it looks like Lamproom Theatre on the right edge of photo
